Welcome to SPADE(Sentiment & Public Advocacy Data Engine). By accessing or using our platform via thespade.in or spade.net.in, you agree to these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Services.
SPADE is a civic technology platform for demographic sentiment and public advocacy data. Content is for civic insight and discussion only—it is not legal, financial, or medical advice.
1. Platform identity and intermediary status
- Platform role: SPADE is a civic technology platform and news aggregator designed to surface public sentiment.
- Legal status: SPADE acts as an intermediary under the Information Technology Act, 2000, and the IT Amendment Rules of 2026.
- Content generation: Content is aggregated and summarized using artificial intelligence from third-party sources. SPADE does not manually alter or endorse the political stances presented in news summaries.
2. User eligibility and account security
- Age requirement: You must be 18 or older to use the platform and participate in civic polling.
- Authentication: Access requires signing in with Google or a magic link sent to your email.
- Accurate information: Provide demographic information to the best of your knowledge. One person must not operate multiple accounts to manipulate votes.
- Account ownership: You may not sell, trade, or transfer your SPADE profile to another individual.
3. Prohibited activities
To preserve the integrity of our democratic data engine, you must not:
- Use automated scripts, bots, fake accounts, or coordinated behavior to manipulate voting outcomes or skew sentiment metrics.
- Spam civic feedback mechanisms or interfere with other users’ access.
- Submit illegal, harassing, or deceptive content.
- Use the Services to advertise or offer goods and services.
- Scrape, reverse-engineer, or attempt to extract data from the platform without permission.
- Game referral rewards or otherwise abuse platform features.
Report problematic questions using the in-app Flag control. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.
4. Data rights, aggregation, and B2B commercialization
- Voluntary participation: Participating in voting feeds, sentiment polls, and leaderboards constitutes voluntary community contribution.
- Data aggregation: SPADE may aggregate, anonymize, and compile voting records, polling selections, and demographic engagement metrics into statistical datasets.
- Commercial use: Once fully anonymized and stripped of personal identifiers, SPADE may analyze, publish, license, or commercialize aggregated intelligence reports for B2B research, corporate, public policy, and market intelligence purposes.
5. User-generated contributions
- Topic suggestions: You may submit concept titles or topic ideas for future curation.
- Ownership of suggestions: Submitted concepts become SPADE property for automated processing, curation, and analytical deployment without entitlement to financial compensation.
- Votes and moderation: Votes and suggestions are subject to moderation and retention policies. We may hide or archive content that violates community standards.
- Platform integrity: SPADE may modify, reset, or recalculate faction scores, leaderboards, and gamified tiers at any time.
6. Third-party links and copyright
- External content: SPADE fetches, summarizes, and presents news from external sources with links to original publishers. SPADE is not responsible for third-party content.
- Copyright infringement: If you believe copyrighted work has been infringed by our AI-generated summaries, submit a takedown notice to admin@thespade.in.
7. Limitation of liability
- As-is service:SPADE is provided "as-is" to the fullest extent permitted by law. We are not liable for indirect or consequential damages arising from use of the platform.
- Liability cap:The platform is free for citizens. SPADE's liability for claims is limited to the amount you paid to use the service—which, for consumer users, is zero.
8. Dispute resolution
- Informal negotiations: Disputes must first be mediated through informal negotiations for 30 days.
- Binding arbitration: Unresolved disputes will be settled through binding arbitration in India, conducted in English before a single arbitrator.
9. Updates to these terms
- Notification: Users will be informed before major updates take effect.
- Notice period:We provide 30 days' notice before standard legal modifications.
- Immediate effectiveness: Updates for security, bug fixes, or court orders may take effect immediately upon notification.
Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
